Toronto small businesses were hit hard during the Covid pandemic. As of the end of 2020, nearly two-thirds of small businesses were forced to close their doors. Some parts of the city were affected more than others. In many neighbourhoods, over 50% of shops closed permanently, while remaining struggled to make ends meet.
